Ephesians
Never in the history of humanity has information been as accessible, relentless, graphic, and well packaged as it is in our time. Comments sections on the internet demonstrate that the world must be full of well-read philosophers on every issue. The news infiltrates our home and hearts at lightning fast speed. We are told that the church in is decline, that God is dead, and that truth is only in the eye of the beholder. We have never been more true to ourselves and never more disappointed with the results. How do we navigate in the new world order of information and subjective truth?
It all depends on our identity - where do we live and breath? In Ephesians, we find hope in Christ for our lives are in Christ. In Christ, we have every spiritual blessing. In Christ, all things are being made new. In Christ, there is peace and purpose. To be in Christ does not only mean we believe in him, but that everything that we have been made everything that Jesus is by the grace of God. This is the grand plan of God - to reconcile us and this world unto him for his glory. It is in this plan that we have an identity and in this identity that we can navigate the world.
